Who it is for
Companies buying 50 to 5,000 MWh of certificates a year in the country where they use electricity. Typical reasons are a customer's supply-chain requirement, CDP or RE100 reporting, or Scope 2 market-based accounting. Below this size the fixed costs of a broker relationship rarely make sense, and above it you usually have one already.
The order flow
- You submit a requirement: legal entity, country of consumption, volume, reporting year and deadline.
- We check eligibility. The certificate must come from the same market as your consumption, and its vintage and plant commissioning date must fit your reporting framework. See which certificate counts where.
- We secure a firm supplier offer that includes redemption and is valid for a stated number of days.
- We send you a quote itemising the supplier cost, our fee and the registry redemption fee. It is valid for a shorter window than the supplier offer, so it cannot lapse underneath you.
- You accept and pay by card or bank transfer. We commit to the supplier only after your payment clears.
- The certificates are redeemed in your name for the reporting period you specified.
- You receive the registry redemption statement, our target is within 10 business days of payment. If supply fails, you receive a full refund.
What you pay
| Component | How it is set |
|---|---|
| Certificate cost | The supplier's price for your exact volume, technology and vintage, passed through without markup. |
| REC.market fee | One flat fee, shown on the quote before you pay. Our fee schedule will be published before we take our first order. |
| Registry fees | Redemption and registry fees passed through at cost. |
What we do not do
- We do not hold inventory or trade for our own account, so we have no position to sell you.
- We do not hold your money in escrow. Payment goes to a specific, quoted order.
- We do not favour any standard or registry. The right instrument is the one your consumption market accepts.
- We do not sell carbon offsets.
REC.market is onboarding its first buyers, and quotes are currently prepared by hand. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell until you receive a written quote.
